CCTV Drain Surveys

Leicestershire & Derbyshire

CCTV drain surveys to identify blockages, damaged pipes and hidden drainage problems across Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

CCTV Drain Surveys & Drain Inspections

CCTV drain surveys provide a clear view inside your drainage system, helping identify problems that cannot be seen from the surface. Using specialist camera equipment, we can inspect underground pipework without unnecessary excavation.

We carry out CCTV drain inspections for homes, landlords, businesses and managed properties across Leicestershire and Derbyshire. Surveys can help locate blockages, damaged or displaced pipes, root ingress, cracks and other defects within the drainage system.

A camera survey is particularly useful where drainage problems keep returning or where the cause of an issue is unclear. By seeing exactly what is happening inside the pipework, we can identify the problem and recommend the most practical next step.

CCTV surveys can also be useful when investigating drainage before repairs, alterations or property works, giving you a much clearer understanding of the condition of the drains.

CCTV Drain Surveys — Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a CCTV drain survey cost?
A domestic survey is £145 between 9am and 5pm, £195 between 5pm and 8pm, and £300 between 8pm and 8am, including VAT. Each covers up to 90 minutes on site and up to 30 metres of surveying, which is enough for most domestic runs. If we are already there on a call-out, a survey is £145 whatever the hour. You get the footage and a written summary of what we found.
Can my business reclaim the VAT?
If your business is VAT registered and the work is for the business, usually yes. Every invoice shows our VAT number with the VAT as a separate line, which is what you need to reclaim it. Landlords letting homes generally can't reclaim it, because residential rent is exempt from VAT. Your accountant can confirm for your situation.
When do I need a CCTV drain survey?
When a drain keeps blocking, drains slowly for no obvious reason, or you need to know the condition of the drainage before buying or renovating a property.
Should I get a drain survey before buying a house?
It's worth it on older houses, where there are trees near the drain run, or where an extension has been built over the drains. A standard homebuyer survey doesn't look inside the drains, and a collapsed drain can cost thousands to put right, so it's better to know before you exchange. Our survey is a practical inspection: you get the footage and a written summary of what we found. If your lender or solicitor asks for a report from an accredited drainage surveyor, check with them first, as that is a different document.
What can a survey find?
Blockages and build-up, cracked or damaged pipes, displaced pipe joints, and root intrusion — problems that aren't visible from the surface.
Will you explain what the camera finds?
Yes. We go through the findings with you in plain terms, explain what they mean for the property, and give practical advice on what needs doing and what can be left.
Do you survey commercial drains as well?
Yes. We carry out surveys for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, businesses and property managers.
Can you fix what the survey finds?
Yes. Blockages and build-up can usually be cleared there and then. Where a pipe is cracked, collapsed or has a displaced joint, we dig down to it, replace the damaged section and make the ground good again. The survey footage shows exactly where the problem is, so only that part needs opening up.
