What we were called out for
We received a call at 20:00 reporting water leaking through a kitchen ceiling in a new build property. Our team arrived on site by 20:45 to investigate and stop the leak.
What we did
The issue was traced to a push-fit elbow on the mains water line that had come loose, allowing water to escape into the ceiling cavity and soak the plasterboard.
To resolve the problem, we:
• Located and isolated the leak • Removed the affected plasterboard to expose the pipework • Re-secured and repaired the push-fit fitting on the mains supply • Stopped the leak and prevented further damage
The result
The ceiling area will now be left to dry out properly, and we will return to install new plasterboard, re-plaster, and redecorate to restore the kitchen ceiling.
Another example of a fast response to prevent further damage and get the problem under control quickly.
